Worship ~ Prayer ~ Study

Worship

Sunday worship is at 11.00am and 6.30pm, with Communion on the first Sunday morning and the third Sunday evening of the month. Special seasonal services take place in the evening, and once a month the evening service is taken by our young people.

The style of worship is traditional. We follow the Revised Common Lectionary and the preaching is Bible-based. The church has a strong musical tradition ranging over a wide variety of periods and styles, with the choir making valuable contributions to the worship every Sunday.

Prayers

Ministry Prayers are held on alternate Saturdays at 9.30am. During this time we pray for the ongoing ministry of the Church, the Minister, staff and all those who hold office in the Church.

Lunchtime Prayers are held every Wednesday at 1.30pm. This consists of a reading, a short message and prayer time where all requests for prayer are made.

Prayers focussing on the Youth Work in our church are held once a month on a Monday.

A Prayer Meeting is held at 6.30pm before each Church Meeting and at 1.30pm before the Study Circle on the second Thursday of the month.

Members of the congregation and visitors to the church are invited to enter the names of those they believe are in need of prayer. Those named in the prayer book are prayed for at both Sunday services and during Lunchtime Prayers on Wednesdays.

Study Circles

There are two groups which meet regularly - Tuesdays at 10.30am (every first and third Tuesday of the month) and Thursdays at 2.30pm (every second and fourth Thursday of the month). The sessions are led by the Minister. Study Circles enable participants to explore and discover the faith by:

  • Listening to others
  • Learning from others
  • Receiving help and guidance

Tea and coffee is provided.

House Group

We are currently looking to start a House Group and if anyone is interested in attending please contact the Minister, Revd Chris Damp on 01234 353465.
