John Bunyan Museum offers inspiring curriculum-based school visits, and excellent support for teachers. We welcome school visits year-round and offer:

  • cross-curriculum learning in History, English, Art and Design and Religious Education

  • specialism in KS1 and KS2

  • resource pack - packed with lesson plans and ideas for your visit

  • atmospheric and safe historic settings (museum and church)

  • real historic objects to inspire children

  • a study room base where you can keep bags and coats, meet together, and have lunch

  • several options nearby to extend your visit

  • FREE pre-visit plus help with planning

  • outreach session on Local History

  • Coach drop-off point at rear of building

MUSEUM VISIT BASICS

MUSEUM BASICS VISIT

  • 1 to 2-hour museum visits, or full day visits

  • Choice of church and museum tours, object handling, and costumed sessions

  • Group size: maximum 60

  • £1 per pupil

 

  • Hire of study room/ lunch space £15

  • Wet-weather picnic option or picnics next door in Castle Garden

OUTREACH SESSION BASICS

 

Session covers KS1 & 2 local history

  • Develops discovery and enquiry skills

  • Object handling and costumed session options

  • One-hour session costs £60 + 45p per mile (can be repeated for additional classes)

Complete, save and email us an Expression of Interest Form  (download G2 payment form) to start the booking process.

  • We will contact you to confirm a date for your visit, costs and other details.

  • NB. We require a minimum 2 weeks advance notice.
