'Who is this John Howard?'


For the week before and the week after Easter you can find out about that famous son of Bedford - John Howard. The exhibition in The Basement at Bunyan explores his life and work - particularly dwelling on his drive to improve the conditions of prisoners in the goals in this country in the 18th century. His work was instrumental in the formation of the Howard League for Penal Reform.

The John Howard Exhibition is open

11.00am to 4.00pm from Tuesday 16th to Thursday 18th; Saturday 20th; and from Tuesday 23rd to Saturday 27th of April 2019.
