John Bunyan Museum offers a variety of super volunteering opportunities in a welcoming and supportive environment:

  • become part of an enthusiastic community

  • spend time in a unique and atmospheric setting

  • learn about fascinating and inspiring histories and stories

  • meet people and make new friends

  • use skills and knowledge in new and rewarding ways

  • hone or learn new skills

We need volunteers to help out in many different ways;

  • meet and greet, and talk with museum visitors

  • help catalogue, care for and interpret the collections

  • support school visits and / or family activities

  • take guided tours round the museum and Bunyan Meeting

  • work in the shop

  • help with exhibitions and projects

  • help with housekeeping and decorating

John Bunyan Museum and Library is a registered charity. It is free to visit the museum and we work hard to make John Bunyan’s story and our collections relevant, accessible and inspiring to today’s audiences from local families to academics.

Donations are vital to our work, especially having been closed for over one year due to covid. They enable us to fund the museum's running costs, and they help us develop it to meet our audiences’ needs, and to achieve its potential in our 21st century world. Gift Aid options are available.
